Access query as mail merge data source problem

Hi

I have created a query in our database the records for mail merge purposes
e.g. it takes out records with id's with an R in them. However when I set up
the mail merge and link the query as data source, the information in the data
source in word is not this same as in the actual query i.e. ID'd with R's are
in it.

anyone have any idea of a solution

Version of Word? Is this an Access database, or something else?
