access removing carriage returns

Have database that was imported from file maker and has
carriage returns in a text field. nee to place them so a
carriage return that access will allow to give seperate
line in text field

Hi David,

I'm guessing here because what you've written doesn't make sense. But
try exporting from FileMaker as "CSV" files, in which fields are
separated by commas and text data is delimited by quote marks. Like
this, Access can tell the difference between a carriage return in a
field and a carriage return at the end of the record.

If that's not the problem, post back here - but this time state the
problem clearly.
