access reports when table is filtered

Hi, I am trying to print reports using access. I have a large linked
database to an excel file that I need to filter for seperate reports.
However when I create the report It will not change when I filter my access
table.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Is there an easier way to
filter such as a dropdown list to filter my database and change the report?
