Hi!
I'm wondering if others have had this problem, and if Microsoft know of it
so that it might get fixed.
Sometimes I copy a query that requires user input, and paste that query with
a new name (and then modify the query to suit the new task, the reason that
the first query was inadequate).
Later I will use Windows to look at a list of files on my PC, and then
double-click one to open it in my text editor.
I then notice a very sluggish response -- my text editor never seems to open
with the document.
I have eventually realized that Access has decided to run my query, and it
is waiting for user input. I have to cancel the query (usually multiple
times, depending on how many objects my text editor or other application is
trying to place into its user interface -- so opening SQL Server Enterprise
Manager might require cancelling the Access query 5 or more times, for
instance).
This problem only seems to occur after I have copied and pasted a user-input
query in Access. It seems as if Windows is trying to run the query because
it is in the Paste buffer.
My usual solution is to close Access, clear the paste buffer, and then
re-open Access.
Is there a better solution?
Thanks in advance,
Dan
