Access slows down tremendously

Hi,

I have a Access2007 database file. I have been working with it pretty well
so far. Today it slows down tremendously. It takes about 10-15 seconds just
to open a table. I did the Compact and Repair but the problem still exists.

Is there anything I can do to speed up the database?

Thanks,
B

See if the problem is with the computer or the database. If you have another
computer available, try opening the database there. If not, check Task
Manager to see what's running on your computer, and look in the Event Viewer
for any signs of problems. Have there been any changes in the antimalware
software, which might now be scanning .mdb files? I always exclude .mdb from
scanning.

Hi,

I have other database files in my computer and they are working just fine.
It just happens to this one specific database file.

Thanks,

Try creating a new blank database and import all the objects from your
existing database. That often either warns about a corrupted object, or
restores functionality by re-initializing structures.
