Access to files I put on my site

Using FP 2003, I was able to upload the files I needed onto my server followed by hyperlinking to the file so visitors can retrieve files I want them to have. However, it requires everyone to log-in with a password. If I give the password out to people, they then have the information they need to go in and have complete access to my site. Is there a way around requiring visitors to your site not to have to login a password and still have access to files I want them to use? Many thanks for any guidance somebody can provide

When you upload the files, into what folder did you place them?

Hi IndyKen,

The files must have been upload to a password protected folder such as _private. Upload them to a separate folder then create the
links.
