Access to older access program

I've got a database that started out as a '97 mdb, got converted to 2000, and is now being converted to XP. We use either XP or 2003, and for some reason we're having problems gaining access to the db. Is there an inherent problem with legacy access databases? Where would you start for figuring out the problem

You shouldn't have any problems. Can you describe exactly what the problem
is - error message text would help.
