Access Toolbars

When I start Access I do not have any toolbars, no graphical ones or the
File, Edit, View, Insert etc. If I hold down the Shift key when starting
Access it doesn't make any difference, neither does repairing or reinstalling
the product.

Can someone help me please?

Thank you

No it's just a version of Office Pro 2000 that's on a number of machines
here, the others are fine; just a little confused why it's happening! The
shortcut keys work fine so I can open databases etc.

Okay, I would make sure you have loaded SR1 and SR2 for Office Pro 2000.
Holding down the shift key works when you are trying to load a database, it
gets you to the database window (unless that is what you are trying to do).

Not sure this will help but I would also check your references to make sure
they are set up like everyone elses. You say you can still get into
databases, so go to design of any form or report and press a build button
and then see if there's a menu in there letting you go to Tools and
References... at that point you'll want to write down what's in there and
see if it matches with everyone elses.

Have you checked your other programs, like Word and Excel, etc... do you
have toolbars and menu options in those?

It could also be that whoever designed the app set AllowBypassKey =
False....in which case, holding the shift key wouldn't matter.

I have SR1 and 2 installed, if I open a database the menu's appear for that
database, also I have all menus for all other office apps.

I'm sorry Joan, I don't understand; what do you mean by the immediate window?

Thank you.

I tried what you explained below, but it hasn't done anything, if I go back
into Access the toolbars still don't appear.

I am now generally stumped! Have you tried submitting to MS online (it's
still free as far as I know)?

Thank you for everybody’s help, I’ve had a look on MS Online but couldn’t see
anything. It looks like it’s a chargeable question now, but if they can
assist me then I’ll contact them.

Thanks again, take care.

Found something in an old post...

RESTORE MISSING MENU BAR:-
* right click the Tool Bar and select 'Customize'
* select the Toolbars tab and then click on 'Properties'
* goto the 'Selected Toolbar' dropdown and look for 'Menu Bar'
* click 'Restore Defaults' and, Hey-Presto, just like magic the Menu Bar
appears

And how does one right click on a commandbar that isn't there?

If I opened a database and went into Design View the design view toolbar
appeared.
