I am using the "Albert D.Kallal" utilitie and I am very happy with it
(thanks Albert !!!).
I would like to make a change to "protect" the document against
updates before to save it so the final users can not make any change
on it.
Not 100% clear what you mean by the above? Are you saying you do NOT want
the user to modify the resulting merged document? Or are you trying to
taking away the option to "modify" templates from the menu?
I suppose if they're not supposed to modify the word document, then you
likely should not have to display it then? (is that a correct assumption on
my part?). I suspect if you displayed a word document after merged, users
would be confused as to why they can't edit or modify the text. perhaps in
this case if you don't want modifications to occur, you consider using PDF
format in that case?
If you just want to save the resulting merged document, then you can specify
the output file name of a template, and even have my My software print out
the document and close it. That means the user will never get a chance to
actually edit/modify the document.
The options to merge to document *without* the user being able to modify the
document are here:
http://www.members.shaw.ca/AlbertKallal/wordmerge/page2.html
eg:
MergeNoPrompts
strFromDocTemplate,[strDir],[bolFullPath],[strOutPutDoc],[strSql],[bolPrint],[strPrinter]
The parameters are explained in the above web link....
