Access XP and 2003

How similar are XP and 2003, they seem to be the same but
when I create an MDE in 2003 and try and open it in XP it
tells me the code is corrupt.

THey show as the same level when you open them

You are correct -- you cannot run an MDE created in Access 2003 under a
previous version of Access. You can save an MDB from Access 2003 in previous
database formats, as far back as Access 97, but not an MDE.

You must generate an MDE with the version of Access under which it will be
executed.

. . . Any particular reason you know of
why XP and 2003 and classified as the
same database type

No, I don't know. Perhaps there is no difference in the database format
required to support any new Access-2003-specific functionality. I do know,
from multiple posts in the newsgroups, that an MDE created in Access 2003
will not run under Access 2002, so they clearly are not as compatible as
some might prefer.
