Access2003 not opening databases/ not showing database window???

Hello,
I have a computer that all of a sudden wont open databases. Access itself
opens fine it opens if i click the db file directly or through a short cut.
None of the databases will open though, no error, access opens and says ready
but there is nothing there.

I have tried F11, I have tried deleting the normal.dot file (for the hell
of it).
The menu options for most everything are grayed out. i cannot access startup
options. i cannot access hide and unhide.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks,
Chris Lambert

all the office programs have
a detect and repair feature and
can be accessed via help in
their perspective toolbar or
add/remove programs in
control panel

Are you saying if you open Access, via Start>Programs>MS Access, then open
an existing db, that was ok before, the menu options are now greyed out.
or are you saying if you open via a shortcut to an existing db the menu
options are greyed out

Both, it doesnt matter how i open it, shortcut to db. shorcut to access makes
no difference options are always greyed out
