Mark,

If you want both versions to be installed, use a different directory.
However, Access 2003 can open and change 2002 files without converting the
format. I can't think of a reason to have both versions as was necessary in
the past.

I purchased Access 2003 Upgrade. With the Upgrade option, it will install
A2003 and remove the previous versions.

I am assuming that the Complete Install option will leave previous versions
untouched. Is that correct.

Can I install it in the default folder, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\
without compromising my A2002 program?

Thanks and God Bless,

Thanks Josh,

The reason for keeping 2002 is to be able to distribute an app to users with
A2002, at least until I get the Runtime for 2003, but still I think it is
better to distribute the version without the runtime whenever possible.

God Bless,

Mark,

Access 2003 will distribute to 2002. The file formats are the same. It can
even convert to 2000 or 97!

Josh,

That's how it would appear on the surface, but I don't trust any new product
from Microsoft. I opened the Db I plan to distrubute and am receiving
#Name? error on a calculated field. I posted about hours ago and noone has
an answer yet. Now I'm afraid that I'll blow away another $500 on the
Extenson tools.

God Bless,

Mark

Actually, that question was answered before it was asked. See my response in
the other thread.

But if I remember correctly you can't create an MDE in 2003 that can be used
with 2002. One should always have a copy of the version that will be used by
the consumers of the app, even if it is just for testing.
