access97 and Unicode

Hi,

I have two databases : the first in in Access2000, and the second is in
Access97.

The tables in Access2K, have Unicode characters(Japanese/Korean) in them.

If I copy these valye manualy - ie using a mouse, and Ctrl+C, and paste this
value in Acess97's tables, Access97, seem to be accepting these characters.

But when I do the same thing programtically, using ADO, junk values and
"???", get filled into Access97 table.

I do know that Access97 does not support Unicode, but I was wondering if
there was a work-around to it.

Please help.

Your problem is exactly why i had to switch over to Access 2000 ( wich is
much bigger in size :-( ) bevcause i had to support the russian language

as far as i know you have to switch over to Acess 2000 to get this working
,,,, however if you succeed drop me a line cause i would love it when i
could switch back to 97

This problems also confused me a lot of times. My problem is when I use
Jet.OLEDB.4.0 Provider to connect to an Access 2000 database and use the
SELECT statement that has a LIKE clause. if the LIKE clause contains a
special Japanese character then will got an error message from compiled vb
application. But if I ran it under vb debug mode then nomore problem. It's
so strange. I found a info on Microsoft website
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834399/EN-US/). I deeply appreciated for
who can give me any idea to me.
