Accessing chart data

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I was unable to access the chart data for a powerpoint graph I created. I could not find any buttons to get to chart data. When I looked to help, it said that I should press control and click on the data section of the chart. I tried this and an edit data link was shown, but it was gray and not available to me. How can I access chart data to make revisions?

Make sure you have Office (12.2.3) & OS X (10.5.8) fully updated, then
repair disk permissions using Apple's Disk Utility or something comparable.

If you continue to have a problem after confirming the above you'll need to
provide more detailed information about exactly how you created the chart,
what file format you're saving in, plus anything else that might be
relevant, such as:

With the Toolbox displayed do the Chart tools display when the chart is
selected?

Is Edit in Excel available in the Edit menu?

Has the chart been cut/copied/pasted from one place to another?

Etc.
