Accessing PWA using a web portal

I am having trouble getting PWA to work for user access via a web portal.
Our company web portal allows employees to access company resources from
home. PWA will show some pages but not all. For example the projects page
gridview will not load and the data analysis page will not load any views.
You get an error saying it cannot find the db server.

This is confusing because why would timesheet and other data load if it
cannot find the database. How are these pages accessing the database
differently from the rest of the site.

This is PS2007 sp2 on a two server farm.
For other reasons, we are trying to avoid allowing all of her PWA users use
terminal services for PWA. Has anyone else had the same issue?

It depends on that technology is being used by the Portal. If the Portal
uses like VPN or Remote terminal server technology it should work. As for
the data analysis page they do direct connect from the client to the SQL
database server and this is not allowed in some portal technologies, The
solution is to surface the analysis services data over HTTP or setup a
terminal server for these remote users to use.

You also may want to get a Microsoft Partner to help you setup your Project
Server Intrastucture for remote access.

Hope this helps
