Accidentally linked worksheets

I created a quite elaborate Excel workbook to collect and total exhibitor
data for a County Fair. Everything worked just fine, but I wanted to add some
calculations. I'm not particularly proficient and not wanting to disturb my
"perfect" original, I copied the whole thing into an "Experiment" folder and
did my experimental work. That turned out ok, so I copied the new work back
to the original. Now the two are cross-linked and the formulas changed in the
original to reflect same. I could not find a way to undo the linking and get
the added information referring to my "experiment" out of the original's
formulae.
Is there a way? I know I can just dump the original and rename "experiment"
but wonder if there's a better way.
Also know the whole thing should be a database, but I understand Access even
less.
Anyone help?

If you know the experiment folder content is OK, then delete the original
and after
that rename the experiment work. Because if you saved the original after the
formulas were
changed there is now way back unless you made backups on the way..
Next time when you copy between sheets, copy from the formula bar or if
there are many formulas
replace the equal sign with r=, do the copying, reverse the replace in both
workbooks and replace r=
with =

Thank you Peo, if I'd only known how to do it correctly the first time. And,
yes, it's all backed up. There are sometimes over 200 entrants, each with
their own sheet, so lots of formulae in the columns.
