Account-settings? Where to define the signature and reply issue

M

MarcSan

Hello all!

I am used to Eudora, but moved over to Outlook 2002 recently.
I have multiple e-mail accounts which I use often.

There are two issues I have:
1. Where can I define which signature to use for a specific account? This is
normal Eudora stuff, but Outlook only seems to know one default signature.

2. How can I setup Outlook so it automaticly uses the account a message was
sent to when replying. Now it allways uses the default account, whatever the
account was the original message was sent to. (So for instance, if my default
e-mail account was [email protected] and I want to replay a message sent to
[email protected], it uses [email protected] as the standard from adress. This is strange,
as it was sent to [email protected]).

I hope someone can help me here!

1) Outlook 2002 doesn't automatically change sigs. OL2003 does.
2) are you collecting mail on an account called [email protected] or is all mail
being forwarded to one account that you collect from? If you collect mail
directly from [email protected] then outlook should reply to it properly.

Thank you for your quick answers.

1. I will change to 2003 soon then! :)

2. Yes, the mail is collected directly from the non-default adress (POP3).
So that remains a strange issue then.

Thanks again!

Add the accounts field to your view - right click on the field names at the
top of the message list and choose Field Chooser. Find Account field and
drag it to the row. Is the right account name listed?

Is the default account exchange server?

Thanks for that tip. Didn't know it was a visible field. I found out the
message was sent to the wrong account. So the response account was OK, if
wrong. Thanks!
