Acrobat Conversions,

I am trying to convert a word.doc to a PDF using acrobat pro.06, this usually
simple procedure has gone to the wall, it opens the selected file to convert
in Word, goes back to the Acrobat browser and disapears, Is this a common
error??

How do i use the stupid thing now!!!......... and yes i have uninstalled and
reinstalled
