Hello
I designed a form using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8/LifeCycle Designer 8.0
and have been compiling the returned data (xml/PDF by email) using the
'Manage Form Data' > 'Merge Datafiles into Spreadsheet' method to export from
Acrobat to MS Office Excel 2003. The initial (English) versions have been
fine, but some of the forms have been returned in a combination of Chinese
and English and the Chinese characters show as dots of question marks in the
Excel sheet. As a workaround I cut'n'pasted the missing characters from the
xml files directly into the Excel sheet. This seemed fine, but when the sheet
was re-opened the Chinese characters reverted to dots or question marks. Has
anyone experienced similar problems? Is this an Acrobat or Excel issue? I
don't have a lot of experience with the csv format, is it connected to that?
Thank you
L.
PS. The language settings for Chinese (all variations) are enabled and we're
using XP Pro.
