Acrobat Pro 6.0 + Word vX = slow launch

Has anyone figured out how to kill Acrobat 6.0 from installing
Distiller every time you launch Word? I tried deleting the Acrobat
plugin in the library/preferences/microsoft directory. The plugin is
re-created on the next launch of Word.

Thanks.

No and I hate it :-<

I am afraid it is a bug in Acrobat and Distiller. No matter how you set
the apps, they keep on installing the nasty-ware :-<<

Does this help? --

- Quit Acrobat and Word

- Delete the following file:
MicroSoft Office/Office/Startup/Word/PDFMaker.dot

- Launch Acrobat. When prompted with the Repair set up, UNCHECK the
PDFMaker option and Do not show again option, then select Continue.
This should stop Acrobat from attempting to "heal" the missing file.
The button should no longer show up in Word.

Here's how to kill the Acrobat ad-ins:

Go to Applications/Microsoft/Startup and remove the files in Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint that Acrobat 6.0 Pro installs. This will kill
the Acrobat addin-ins. (**You might want to copy these files to
another location on your hard drive in case that you want to reinstall
them someday.**)

(Note: I wouldn't call this a "bug" in Acrobat; Acrobat is loading
software that is very, very slow that makes Office equally slow. I'd
call it a bad implementation of a bad idea from Adobe!! Don't they
test this stuff?)
