Have you tried download another copy of Acrobat and installing, after uninstall the current
version,
normally Acrobat will install with the setting necessary for documents to be viewed in the
browser.
There is no setting that you can set via HTML, etc. to change those settings for your site
visitors.
In Acrobat Reader, v6.0.1, you can check the settings under Edit | Preferences | Internet

What is the local setting you are talking about here. The problem I am
having is that it always asks the user to Save/Cancel, it doesn't open in the
browser.
Thanks.
:
Depending of if the user has Acrobat reader installed the document may
open in the browser (depending on local settings) or download. If it is
not, they will always get a download prompt.
In your case, I assume you have it installed so likely you waited too
short a time for the document to download and display.

Can anybody help explain how to have a hyperlink execute a
pdf file that has been imported into my website. Office
suggest introducing an inline frame. All that you get when
you preview this in a browser is an empty box that does not
respond to the mouse.
a specific page discusses a situation which is explained in a
pdf document. I want button which when clicked will open the
pdf document.
Any help would be appreciated.
cheers
