Activating Full Office version

I had the Office trial version. It expired so I tried to convert it. I
enter in my purchased Product key (came with the computer when I purchased it
just recently) and the conversion box opens and I have the option of Install
Now or Customize. I push Install Now and it says that it's downloading, and
when it finishes downloading it says that it is now installed and to close
and reopen any MS programs. I do that and when I open MS Office back up, it
tells me once again that my trial version is expired. What do I do?

Do you now have two versions installed? If so, then uninstall the trial
version, and the paid version should work.

I've never been through the trial-to-real ordeal, but from all the
complaints, it must be anything but straightforward.

Thanks so much for replying!
When I look under my Programs and Features under the Control Panel, I only
see one version of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. The word "trial"
doesn't show up anywhere in the list of programs on my system. I'm usually
pretty good at figuring this stuff out, but since I have my product key and
all, I'm kinda at a standstill on where to go from here.

Umm what do you mean by "came with my computer when I purchased it
recently"? Do you mean that you bought a computer with the FULL Office
installed? Did you pay extra for that? If not, then I suspect that the "key"
that came with your computer is only a Trial-version key....which is why it
keeps telling you that the trial has expired...

The trial version had one key, and a purchased version should have another.
Since you say that that your purchased version came with the computer, I'm
beginning to suspect that that key is the trial version key, and that you
still need to purchase Office. (Many computers come with trial versions, and
not all make it perfectly clear that what you have is a trial version, and
that the key supplied is for the trial version, not for a "real" version.)

Do you have two keys? If so, then make sure that the purchased version is
associated with what you installed. On the chance that you actually do have
