Well,Miss Tick the reason I tried here is because I was redirected
back to Microsoft when I tried to get answers from Compaq.
This isn't Microsoft, it's a peer-to-peer newsgroup. HP built the computer,
they sold you the computer, they are responsible for all support -
*including* keys and media - IOW software. MS only supply the software to
the OEM, they are *NOT* responsible for support - that falls to the OEM (of
course I'm assuming that you even know what OEM means).
MS will not assist you - you do not qualify for any support from them. OK,
you don't qualify for any free support. They might offer you paid incident
support, at £50 a time, but you don't qualify for free support. Besides, why
on earth should MS know what HP sold - or didn't sell - you?!
And so I
came here to try to get a legitimate answer from someone who might
know something of some value, but that obviously is not the case.
Not my problem you're an idiot.
I
will redirect my energy somewhere more knowledgable on the subject of
MICROSOFT.
And what part of the phrase "MS will not assist with OEM supplied software"
are you having problems with, exactly. Do tell, and I'll try to elaborate.
I'd love to know where elseyou think you're going to ask. You're just going
to receive the same response elsewhere.
All I want is someone to tell me that I have the wrong key
or the wrong software and possibly how to remedy the problem!?"!@#
And that, you f**kwit, would be HP. They built the system, they sold you the
system and, as the OEM, they are responsible for all support of the system.
If you think that *THEY* sold you the wrong software then that is for *YOU*
to take up with *THE* *VENDOR* (ie. *HP*), not a peer-to-peer newsgroup
(what you think anyone here can do about it, I really don't know), nor
Microsoft. It isn't Microsoft's problem; it's between you and the vendor
(i.e. HP).
Where else you're going to go I've no idea.
