Hi, George. Legally, the Dell OEM copy of Office XP Pro
can only be installed on the computer that Dell put it
on... you can't install it on any other computer, whether
desktop or laptop. The store-bought copy of Office
XP Standard can be installed on one desktop and one
laptop owned by the same person as long as the two
computers are not used simultaneously. If you have
problems with online activation of the second
installation, you can use the telephone activation method
and explain what you're doing to the Microsoft
representative. My personal experience with my copy of
Office XP has been that if it's been more than a year
since a license was last activated online,
then there isn't a problem with activating it again
online.
