activating word

Whenever I open a word document, I receive a message that
states "locked for editing." I read that this is because
Word needs to be reactiviated? What should I do?

On the Help menu, choose Activate Product. If it has already been activated,
you'll get a message box saying as much. If not, you'll be prompted to
connect to the Internet to activate online, or you can do it by phone. If
this is not the problem, it may be caused by orphaned temp files. See
