Activation/Installation ID

Hi all,

I've recently moved to a new PC, and reinstalled office. When I run it,
and try to activate it via the internet, I get the "you've already
installed as many times as you can..." speech - fine - I know I've
activated it already. BUT, when I select the "activate by telephone",
and click next, I get the egg-timer for a couple of secs, and the
windows disappears. It doesn't take me to the next windows like it
should, where I get the INstallation ID and phone number. I called MS
licensing anyway, but they say they can't help without an install ID.
I've reinstalled, and I've tried to detect and repair, but no luck. Any
ideas? I need that next windows to get the install ID and enter the
activation code. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,
DSt.

Do you have a "Retail Version" or "OEM Version" of Office?
If you have the "OEM Version", then you cannot activate it
on a different computer since the license is permanently tied to
the original computer it was installed on and cannot be transferred.
