Activation not working

I know there have been several posts on this, but we need you to take note of
this and fix it. The Activation does NOT work. It is not our connection, it
is on your end, regardless of what the message box tells us. This is a
serious problem, as I just replaced my entire office suite with this beta. I
know there are general stability problems with betas, and I am willing to
take those risks, but stability problems are not the same thing as complete
uselessness. This is a product that will cease working. Microsoft needs to
fix this fast.

Hi Davis,

I'm assuming you're referring to at least one portion of the 2007 Office System Beta set available?

What are the exact steps you're using, what error messages, if any, are you getting?

If you're using a firewall does the 2007 Office System and the Activation wizard been set to be able to go through the firewall?

Hi Bob,

I too have been attempting to activate Office 2007 for about 7 hours now.
First on my primary machine, then on my laptop. Nada!

I’m running Zone Alarm, and when Office attempts to connect, I allow it.
I’ve even shut down ZA. Nada!

As for the steps, I’m simply going to File> Word Options> Resources>
activate Microsoft Office > Next. Nada!

I chose not to remove Office 2000 however, so I’m not stressing ;-)

As for Office 2007 itself… it’s entirely ****ing awesome!!!

I love it!!! Must have it!!!

Great Job!!!

It has been programmed like that in beta version so that we get the
taste of it and after 49 times using the software it goes off
So outlook does work but only the register option has been disabled.

CANT SAVE !

i would wait despite the cosmetic changes

Or probably we can wait for some really Awesome coders to crack it and
we wont neet to activate through Mr. Gates.

Of course the problem is from Microsft's servers. There are many people who
have this activation problem. I also have the same problem and I am 100% sure
what firewall means and how you can see differences between connection
problem and the server problem. Be sure, the problem is from their side, and
they know it well.

I'm having the same issue, the help files say this could be related to
a proxy issue. Well I'm the network admin, I can assure you we don't
have a proxy server. I like what I've been able to see so far, but I
am stressed about the fact I wiped off my Office 2003 install to run
this. When's the fix expected... some of us open and close this app
several times a day and don't want to lose the features.

Thanks,

Just to say that i'm having the same issue tonight...

Although if you leave Office 2003 on your PC and run the setup with the
upgrade option it doesn't actually 'upgrade' the install, but installs
it along side Office 2003 leaving all your old apps intact. Or at least
it has with mine anyway!!
