activation not working

I had to reinstall office on the same computer and I'm not able to open new
documents and mail messages (my top bar is basiclaly grayed out) so I
uninstalled and reinstalled then went to activate product. When I click the
button nothing happens. What am I able to do. I have the product key that i
entered when installing, but why isn't this working.
