Activation on both desktop & laptop

I have been using office 2003 professional on a desktop pc and have recently
purchased a laptop and want to start using the same office program on the
laptop. After installing the program on the laptop how do I activate the
product? or do I need to activate it?

Did you get rid of the desktop or uninstall Office from the desktop?

Was the office install an OEM version or retail?

If you wish to run Office on the two machines you need a new license for it.
If the install was an OEM one then you won't be able to transfer it over.
If the Office is retail then you can uninstall from the first machine and
reinstall it on the laptop.

Actually, if you have the retail box version, you may install Office on two
PCs - one desktop and one laptop - if you are the only one to use them. This
is in the EULA.

Thanks Lawrence,
I realise that I can installon both through the EULA. However, when it
comes to activation will there be a problem or would the fact that I can
install on two machines be picked up through the software on activation.

It was purchased under a home user agreement through the NHS

Then you need to check with your company. Home Use editions have different
rules.
