I purchased a Gateway in August with 60 day MS Office. I purchased the
full
product and shortly thereafter my computer crashed. Today I got a new
laptop. Is there a way to use my prior activation? Can't seem to
reach
MS -
at least without paying $35 to email the question. TIA - Ed

You should have received the CDs when you paid for the full version. If you
didn't, let me know. There is another MVP who is looking into these issues.
I don't know what she's doing with the information but it's one step closer
than you are now.

I ended up digging through some papers and found the hard copy with the
license key. I also went through the "activate now" process again and found
a FAQ that provided a way for MS to send me another copy of the key upon
providing my email and credit card info to confirm the prior purchase.
Despite receiving assurance that the key would be sent "shortly" I still
haven't received it.

This time I'm not only saving the hard copy, but the license key on some
files I'm backing up.

Thank you!

Chances are Microsoft is on a skeleton staff this weekend. Even though a lit
can be done without human intervention, I would think there are a few
warm-blooded critters involved in this.

The important thing is that you are up and running. Now make sure you put
the CDs and PID someplace safe. :)
