Active Thumbnails in PPT

I am trying to create a visual summary page of PowerPoint slides. I'm
looking for a method that allows you to link a smaller,
automatically-updating subordinate version of a slide to a master slide that
comes later in the presentation. In this way, I hope I can create a
semi-automated system where I pull in data and have a report presentation
refresh itself upon opening.

If you know of a function in PPT that allows this to be done, please let me
know.
