Active X table uneditable by viewer

I've got an Active X object emulating an Excel
spreadsheet. It has a single cell which is supposed to be
changable by the viewer (for a date). A certain user has
accessed the page but cannot alter the default value. Is
there a security restriction in play?

I can't seem to find any information on the Microsoft Web Site about
FrontPage and "an ActiveX object emulating an Excel spreadsheet". It would
seem that FrontPage doesn't come with such an object...

Perhaps you should ask the author of the ActiveX object.

Is the user using IE (required) as their browser, and have they set their security to allow the
ActiveX component to download?

The item in question is known as a Microsoft Office Web
Component. In order for one to work with an interactive
spreadsheet, one needs to have an MS XP license, MS Web
Components installed, and MS Internet Explorer 4.01 or
later. This is from the help panel.

The license is Office XP, not Windows XP and the ActiveX must be allowed in the browser under
Security.
