Activity Plan & Costs not showing

I have some activity plans with Resources against tasks. The Resources have
Cost rates assigned against them in the enterprise resource pool..but when
published I see no costs in any views eg Project Centre or even the
enterprise resource pool using the Cost column added into Resource Sheet..any
ideas on why Costs are not showing??
