Actual Hours not showing up in Resource Usage view

For this question, all projects are enterprise projects and all resources are enterprise resources

When I open up one project in MS Project 2003 Pro, and select Resource Usage view, the individual tasks for that project are visible and a SUMMARY line for every PROJECT that resource is on is also displayed. However, the project summary line does not display the actual hours used by that resource. The actual hours do show up if I open the related project (which then displays all the individual tasks)

Why aren't the actual hours showing up? The remaining hours that are shown also are ignoring the actual work performed. The actual work shows up correctly in the PWA view for that resource.

Got the answer from another source. This is a holdover from prior versions of Project. The older versions used to use a common resource pool, and when you opened up ANY project that used that pool, project would prompt you if you wanted to open up all projects using the pool. This was GREAT and worked quickly

The current Project 2003 Pro also uses resource pools, but if you are using the enterprise resources and projects, no longer prompts you to open all projects in one fell swoop. If a project is not opened, then the actual hours for that project WILL NOT BE COUNTED in the current view. Unfortunately, this is a BIG step backwards in convenience.
