Actual Project Work is different from the PWA actual work entered

All tasks are fixed duration
All resources report hours per day per task

For no apparent reason the actual work recorded in the server takes wierd
values such as 8.25 for a timesheet entry of 8 or 0.23 for a timesheet entry
of 0

We have tried republishing and this does not correct the errors. Any ideas?

The standard behavior of Fixed Duration tasks is for Project to spread
actual work across the duration. So, if you want actual work to remain where
posted in your project files, you will not use fixed-duration tasks in your
project plan.
