Actual Protected Work in Project Server 2002

David

In Project Server 2002 can the actual work entered in the PWA timesheets be
protected?
It has been noticed that the actual work which is coming on the Portfolio
Analyser view is determined from the Project plan & it is not exactly what is
entered in the PWA.
The actual is getting overwritten by project plan values.
How can I get the actual work entered in the PWA on the Portfolio Analyser
OR by means of some other report? Pls advice.

Regards,

David.

No. Sorry. This feature was added in Project Server 2003.

Does this imply that the actuals entered on the PWA cannot be retrieved as
originally entered from some tables
OR
that the actuals entered on the PWA gets overwritten by the project plan
values as updated?

The field (Actual Work) on the Portfolio analyser is coming from the project
plan actuals as updated.

Regards,

David.

Not it would still be possible to do what you are saying via custom
code. The entries made in PWA are still in the sql database as entered.
The trouble would be when to assume the timesheet was correct and when
the project plan was correct. maybe the project manager made an
adjustment on a task that was perfectly valid. Overwriting such a
change with the timesheet might do the project schedule harm. Any
custom code that would do this would need to have a way for the project
managers to mark tasks that should not be updated.

We are facing a problem where in the timesheet is used by the accounts for
costing - The Actual work entered in the PWA by the resources is different
from what is viewed in the Portfolio Analyser Actual work report.
From which tables on the database can I get the original Actual work values
by means of report?

By creating custom codes will it be used to update the plan with actuals?

David.

Actual Work as entered by resources in the PWA?
