Actual Start vs Start

Dear All

I was wondering is there a way that I could change the actual start date WITHOUT the start date being changed
Another question, How can I prohibit a group from changing the project plan owner?!! I only want the admin & the project who create dthe project plan to be able to change the owner

Thank you,

I have read many documents regarding Actual Starta & Start and they all say that they mush equal each other. I have a work around this issue - saving baseline, then adding the column baseline date. This way baseline date is constant. Is this a professional work around or not?

Hi SleepySam,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This is not a work around as this is what baselining is for - to compare
actual results with the original plan. Have a look at the Tracking Gantt
view. Save the baseline just before you go live with your project.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))

Thanks Mik

That is what I did and it is working just fine. As for my other question about prohibiting a group/user from changing the project plan owner, the solution was to uncheck Manage Enterprise Features for this group/user!!! Now I found out only by trial & error!! that is trying every single permission, as I would never thought that Manage Enterprise Features had anything to do with changing Project Owner, but since its a Microsoft Product - Expect the Unexpected :

Thanx
