Actual work column changes at 100% complete

Our resources go into server 2002 to log time to a task: Lets say they log 30
hours on a task that was esimated to take 40 and they are done. When the
project manager goes back into the plan and marks the task 100% complete the
actual hours changes to 40. Which is incorrect. Why does it do that?

Susan --

Your team members are not submitting their task progress correctly. When a
40-hour task completes in 30 hours, the team member needs to enter 30 hours
of Actual Work and reduce the Remaining Work to 0 hours on their timesheet
in PWA. This will show that the task finished early, and the PM will not
need to make any adjustment to the task. In fact, I would strongly
recommend that you teach this methodology to your team members. In
addition, I also personally recommend that team members add a task Note to
the task in PWA to document the early completion. Hope this helps.
