Actual work not updated in web view

Using Project 2002 Professional with ProjectServer. Have
two projects where some of the actual work is in Project
and the project has been published to Project Server, but
the actual work is not reflected in the "projects" web
view for these particular projects. The project managwer
was updated the time submitted by the resources and it is
reflected properly in Project 2002. Why would it not be
displayed in the web view in Project Server?

You must "synch up" the information in the project plan with the information
in PWA. Do this by clicking Collaborate - Publish - All Information. I
believe this will solve your problem.

I am experiencing a similar problem. I have 2 projects
that have been updated using Project 2002 Pro. The
project managers made major changes to correct
some "actual" and "work" hours. They saved the changes
and did Colloborate/Publish/All Information.

The hours look OK in the Project Center view; however, the
task view reflects the old data. I had the Project
Manager try Colloborate/Publish/Re-Publish without success.

Any Suggestions?

Are you saying that the project manager changed Work and Actual Work values
in the Microsoft Project plan? If so, then he/she probably missed one step
in this process. The PM needs to do the following:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
2. Select the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option
3. Click OK

I'll bet your PM did not do step #2 above. That step is necessary to "push"
the alterered numbers from Microsoft Project to each team member's timesheet
in PWA. Hope this helps.

Yes the Project Manager did this more than once. To be
sure I watched them and then looked at the tasks in PWA
and hours did not change. Unfortunately we have this
situation with 2 projects with different Project
Managers.
I even had both of the them try Collaborate - Publish -
All Information and still no change.

RLynn:

Try this:

Select only one or only a few of the tasks that are affected in the plan,
then use Republish for the selected items only. See if that works. I've seen
situations where using the reupublish all feature fails. I suspect this has
to do with the contents of the plan, but I haven't been able to nail it
down. Let us know what happens when you take this approach, republishing a
little at a time. If you get to a task that doesn't republish, then I'd be
interested in knowing the details of the task.
