Charles

Hello !

I got 256 projects in a Project server(2002)
I got some entrerprises resources

I what to display actual work for resources over the 256
projects

My physical resources (256 mo ram) are too low to open all
projects on my workstation.

What is the best way to obtain overall actual work in a
resource usage view .

Thanks for your response

If you have the Analysis Services Installed you can build an OLAP cube and analyze your resources.

Charles:

In an Enterprise-configured Project Server environment, you don't have to
open any more than one project to see the resource usage across all of your
projects in the resource usage view. In fact, this is one of the more
controversial changes in the behavior of the Project Client with the advent
of Project Server. Some love it, some despise it!

The trick for you is to make certain that all of your resources are included
in the view. To do this, open a new project on your server and save it as a
blank project. Use the team builder to add all of the resources you want to
look at to the plan. Again save your changes. Now look at resource usage
view. It should show all the detailed work in the current plan (should be
none at this point) and one line of summary hours for each of your other
plans below each resource.

Dear Gray

I'va already made what tou're talking about. I suggest you
to do all the tasks youre describing. The last one is to
look at resource usage view. Watch a little closer! There
is NO actuel work on ressources ! Except if you open on
the same time your projects.

Hope to read you soon

Thanks for your response...

Charles:

My apologies, I read too fast and completely missed the word "actual" in you
post.
