Actual Work set to 0 - by mistake

C

Colin Anderson

Hi,

One of our project managers has *accidentally* reset
Actual Work for all assigned resources to 0. Is there any
way to type in this information without asking all
participants to guess the values they have typed in
earlier? We don't know how to restore one individual
project but I am sure it is not easy.

Isn't it correct, that values typed in via the Project
client cannot be seen via Web Access?

Hope someone can help us here.....

Colin:

Restoring a single project is not a big deal if you have a backup of your
database:
1) Restore the database to an empty database
2) Establish an ODBC connection to the database by creating a DSN on the
machine you're working on
3) Connect to the database using File > Open > ODBC in Project Pro and open
the project
4) Save it as an mpp
5) Import it to your sever after deleting the bad copy (don't delete the
subweb if it contains data)
6) Reset the newly imported project to connect to existing subweb
&) Publish/Republish etc.

As for question two, the answer is false. You can display work values
entered in Project Pro in Web Access. To do so, republish the affected tasks
and select the check box for overwrite actual work in Project Web Access.
