Actual Work/ Timesheets

David

While using the Timesheets on the Project Server to update
the actual on MS Project. I am facing a problem, if I have
2 or more resources assigned to a task. If one resources
updates the actuals & send PM fo approvals. The % complete
on the task changes- it also updates the actual work
entries on the other resources who have not yet sent their
actuals for approval.
How can this be solved as it will show incorrect entries
on the report? Is this the way the Timesheets are supposed
to work? Any urgent help would be appreciated?

Regards,
David.

This is definitely not behavior I have seen in the system. Can you confirm
exactly where you are seeing the Actual Work changing for the other
resources assigned to the task? If in the Microsoft Project plan, exactly
where in the plan (give the View and Table name)? In the other resources'
timesheets in PWA? Let us know.

While looking into detail on the task I noticed that the
PM has already updated the %Complete on the task to 100%
before the team submitted the actuals on the task. I guess
this has caused the problem of 1 resource task approval
updating the other resource actuals on the task. The view
is the Resource Usage view. Is this the cause?

David.

David:

The PM updating the plan directly defeats the purpose of reporting in
Project Web Access. By setting the percent compete to 100%, Project
automatically accrues the planned work values.
