Dear All,

I have done this:
1. Manager have published project and task was displayed in my task
2. Updated my timesheet (actual work), saved and submitted, then manager
give approval to my time sheet
3. I see the progress that have been updated in my task, and I import my task

But, the actual work is not update in ms project file. What should I do?
And how did I set to display timesheet view with column : work, % work
acomplete, actual work. Now I only can display start, finish, progress column
in timesheet view

Thx all
Dee

If you were using 2003, then I would hope that the answer is something
simple like needing
to press the "Update" button on your timesheet and not just the "Save."

From your description, I presume you are using Project Server 2007. In your
post, I see two issues:

1. There is a huge difference beween the My Timesheet page and the My Tasks
page, and every team member needs to understand the differences. After
entering time in the My Timesheet page, the team member was correct to
submit this information to his/her manager, who then approved the time.
This time DOES NOT go into the Microsoft Project plan. Then the team member
imported the time from the My Timesheet page to the My Tasks page. From
there, the team member needs to submit the task progress to his/her project
manager. This allows the PM to update the progress into the project plan.
It is NOT enough to enter time in the My Timesheet page and then submit it,
as this DOES NOT submit progress to the Microsoft Project plan.

2. Your Project Server administrator needs to modify the My Assignments
view to include the fields used to track progress for your organization.
Assuming your organization uses the Percent of Work Complete method of
tracking, I would recommend the following columns in the following order:

Task Name
Actual Start
% Work Complete
Remaining Work
Actual Finish
Start
Finish

Using the above columns allows a team member to see when a task is scheduled
to begin (Start) and scheduled to finish (Finish). The TM can then enter
the date he/she actually started (Actual Start) and his/her estimated
progress (% Work Complete) and can adjust the work remaining on the task
(Remaining Work). When the TM finishes work on the task, he she can enter
the date he/she finished (Actual Finish). Hope this helps.
