Add a custom field to Deliverable view

Q

Quized again

Is it possible to add a custom task field from the database to the
deliverables page view?
Thank you.

This is MOPS2007. OK, so more thought makes me realize that these are not
tasks and therefore they do not have custom task fields associated with them.
So what does the tool mean if you select the Edit View option from the
Deliverables web page (default view=All Items), one of the options is "Gantt
Columns". The text for Gantt Columns says "...If no fields appear in a list,
they must be created to support this view". I can't find where to create
those columns. Or is this the SW's way of telling me to select from List
Settings>Add from existing site columns?

Thanks again.

Quized,

the functionality you are describing is a pure sharepoint functionality and
has nothing to do with Project Server. As you correctly stated you cant have
project or task custom fields in your Workspace ( unless you custom develop
it). the Gantt chart view you are discovering is nothing else then a view to
a list item. In order to make Gantt charts work you need to have at least a
list title and a start and finish date. Then you can display a simple gantt
chart in your Project Workspace lists ( e.g. Deliverables). By the way you
can do this to any list item. ( View > Create View and choose the Gantt View)
Hope this helps

Thanks Marc. Yes it helps. I did find where the columns are to be created. I
am going to see what I can accomplish with WSS designer. Too bad this feature
(deliverable views) falls a bit short of really cool.

Thanks again.

Yes I agree, a great start but it could ( and I am sure will) go furhter. Be
aware that the sharepoint designer is not supported by Project Server 07
Have fun

You could use the SharePoint Designer for your workspaces, but unfortunalty
it doesnt work on templates. If you like to have some workfows in your
workspace you will need to custom dev it
Have fun mate
