Add a group to an existing custom ribbon

Hi everybody

I adjusted my Normal.dotm to show an additional Ribbon.
Now I was wondering if it would be possible to add groups to this
Ribbon from another Document.

For example:
My Normal.dotm contains the custom Ribbon "myRibbon" which is
displayed correctly.

If I customize another document and add a custom Ribbon to that one as
well and use the same Tab-ID it only shows me the groups I added to
the Normal.dotm. If I use a different Tab-ID it shows me two Ribbons
with the Groups and Buttons that I expect.

Does that mean I can't add Groups, Buttons etc. to an existing
customUI Ribbon, or am I just doing something wrong?
