Add a new Record

I am trying to add a new record to a form; however, my new
record button is greyed out and when I try and click on
add new record nothing happens. Can anyone help me....

Is the form based on a query?
If so that is probably the problem.
Try to add records to it and see what happens.
Usually the problem is in your joins.
