Add custom fields and values to PWA timesheet view

We're stumped.

We're trying to modify the timesheet view to include some custom fields.
Though we've seen all the documentation about how to publish custom fields,
etc., there is a critical piece of information we're still not seeing.

When we publish custom fields, they DO show up in the timesheet view, but
the VALUES entered into them in the Project Professional interface (Gantt
View) do NOT show up in the PWA timesheet view.

Here's the requirement we're trying to solve for...

We have a distinct time entry system that is required as a matter of policy
for tracking time. However, we want to use Project Web Access timesheets so
we can track our actuals in Project more effectively. Eventually, we plan to
integrate the two, so time entered into Project Server will push through some
semi-automated script into our other time entry system.

In the meantime, we obviously want to make the double time entry situation
as painless as possible.

What I would like to do is add some custom fields (attributes or properties
really) to our projects/tasks in our project plans (things like business
unit, internal project id, etc.) that will show up in the timesheet view, so
the team member can export the timesheet and then do a fairly simple cut and
paste job to transfer that into the various fields in the other time entry
system.

This seems like it should be simple, but I'll be damned if I can figure out
what we're doing wrong.

If you have any suggestions, please reply!

Thanks,
Jeff

Tell us exactly what you Are doing, and we will try to help identify what's
missing from your process. It is not enough to say you are publishing custom
fields; we need to know the steps you are taking, in order.
