Add/Edit another users 'My Tasks' using Web Access

Paul Reynolds

Hi

Does anyone know how to configure the web access so that
certain users can effectively impersonate another user so
that they can go to the Tasks, add/edit another users
tasks?

This scenario has come about as a user may be away, or
unable to enter the data in themselves, and require
someone else to do this....

Regards
Paul

The way to do this is to set the user accounts for these individuals to
Project Server authentication, rather than Windows User Account
authentication. Doing so will allow the interested individuals to log in as
one another and enter actuals on one another's behalf.

Do know that these users will not be able to use the Documents and Issues
sections of PWA because they are using Project Server authentication, as
these two sections of PWA are only accessible to users who are authenticated
with their Windows User Account. Not a perfect solution, but I hope it
helps.

Another approach is to have the PMs enter the actual work in the Project
Plan and synchronize it to PWA by republishing the tasks in question
selecting the "overwrite actual work in Project Web Access" checkbox in the
republish dialog box.
