Hi !

The question has been asked already for all sorts of drives, but this
one hasn't been answered yet :

In Office XP(2002) is it possible to add "my computer" icon in the
place bar at left in dialog boxes (open/save) ?

I know i can add shortcuts with the option "Add to my places"
I know i can show/hide "My documents", "Recent", "Desktop", etc with
the registry,

but no place I can add MyComputer

anyone has an idea ?

thanks all

Tiah

Hello Bob,

I will need an explanation for this ! :) where do i put the shortcut ?
and how ?

i tried to click on "my computer" but the option "add to my places" is
greyed out.

i tried to create a shortcut in windows explorer, but when i add it to
"my places" and I click on it, it says the folder name is invalid

Interesting, have you "hidden" My Computer in the box already? In Office
2003 it is there. I don't have Office XP to test on.

No, in Office XP, there is no "My computer" shortcut in that bar.

it is new from 2003 to have it.

that is why i'm looking for how to add it :)

You cannot add "my computer" with this method.

I think I will have to do it with modify registry, that is what i'm
looking for

Did you miss the section "Registry Entry Reference" in the article?
Please read it to the end for your solution.

This section is to add customize shortcuts.

since my computer is not a shortcut, you cannot add it this way.
