I have been testing out a project before I go live and have found something
puzzling when I add a new test user from the Project Server into the Project
plan itself in MSProject. I noticed that new users that I have added in the
Project Server using the Manage Users and Groups section in the Admin area of
the server choosing "Project Server authentication, using a logon name and
password" are not available to assign when I am in the actual project plan in
the resources section. In the project plan when I have a task that I want to
assign a resource to, in the Specificy Resources section I choose Add
Resources from Project Server I choose the Build Team from Project Server
link.
However, this system has been used prior to me joining this position and
existing users that have been on projects before appear for me to assign them
from the Project Server, but not new ones that I have recently created. At
first I thought it was because they have to have been previously assigned to
a previous project to be "active", but I tried using a test user that I had
assigned to a previous project and when I tried to add them to a new project
it still didn't work.
Is there a way to synch up the users in the Project Server to be able to add
them within a project plan? As of now I have to add them manually to the
project plan as a resource? Thanks.
